Ramps4Champs aims at encouraging participation of people with all types of disabilities, especially those with severe mobility disabilities, in health-enhancing activities.
In Thessaloniki, training of coaches in inclusive and safe #boccia was conducted. 12 participants from Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and N. Macedonia were at the Kaftanzolljo National Stadium as part of the European project #ramps4champs of the #ErasmusPlus program to participate in the training and the first meeting.
The project aims to develop skills in the BC3 category in which athletes compete with the help of a ramp and with the help of a sports assistant. This co-financed initiative by the #erasmusplussport program aims to encourage the participation of people with all types of disabilities, especially those with severe mobility disabilities, in activities to improve health.
This will be achieved through Boccia BC3, a classification of the Paralympic game of Boccia, played by athletes with significant limitations in the functions of the arms and legs, such as tetraplegia and myopathies.
BC3 is a truly inclusive game that allows people of all genders and ages to play together.
The partners that participate in this project are ΑΣ ΑμεΑ ΑΕΤΟΙ Thessalonikis, Association for the Development of Bulgarian Sport /ARBS/, Sportski savez osoba sa dissimili Beograda, National Network of Sports Leaders – NMSL and Rescue Training International | First Aid Training who took over the first aid training part and the purchase of four racing level ramps for the remaining project partners.
The #ramps4champs project aspires to become a global campaign to mobilize and raise awareness around the world. Follow us on Ramps4Champs #ramps4champs, #boccia#inclusion#ErasmusPluss#BISFed#BeInclusive#beactive
